Dinner options that are also low carb

Doing low carb isn't that difficult if you just allow yourself to think outside the proverbial 'carb' box. It takes a bit of planning but not that much, and there are so many substitutes available (depending on how much carbs you are eliminating). We follow a more lower carb approach just to lessen the white carbs but we enjoy fruits and veggies and low carb breads made from nut flours. Here are some of our favourite low carb dinners.

Having friends over doesn't mean you have to be boring. We had beautiful steaks with a lovely creamy mushroom sauce, Roasted veggies and a big green salad with fruit added for sweetnes and colour.

Another quick and easy chicken and tomato pesto dinner topped with loads of parmesan, which Hubby enjoyed with some whoelwheat pasta, while I had a low carb bagel.

Nothing satisfies you more than a chicken dinner. We roasted a whole chicken and some butternut and beetroot and enjoyed it with a big green salad.

This time some crispy lamb chops served with a Greek salad (but without the chopped tomatoes - I am not so fond of them anymore) and a big dollop of hummus. You can also marinate the chops in some basil pesto just before cooking for extra flavour.

We have Thai Green Curry at least once a week. Some times even twice. I make it with either chicken, steak or beef mince and lost of stirfry veggies. This is always a winner!

As you can see we love our steak. We have a "braai" on Fridays but sometimes even during the week. In winter we have roast veggies and in summer a green salad with cheese and fruit.

Or how about trusty old spaghetti bolognese but with cauliflower instead? I gave the Toddler and Hubby wholewheat spaghetti while I had this big bowl and it was soo good!

Low carb pizza is great but I struggle to find one with a beautiful crust, so go out for dinner instead! Col'cacchio pizzaria has a whole banting menu and I loved the avocado and bacon pizza (as pictured above).

Another favourite is my burger bowls. We make burges as usual (beef or chicken) and all I do is I eat it over a salad. So filling and so great. If you do feel like a bun though, then enjoy it with my low carb almond flour microwave bread.  It works fantastic.

Well now you have options for the whole week. I hope some of these will become your favourite family recipes too.
