Quick crispy onions for burgers
The Eldest love crispy onions on her burger, so while making a mushroom sauce cheese burger, I decided to try something to make these quick crispy onions. I took the idea of coating the onions in cornflower from the various chicken recipes and realised you don't need to make a batter. I started with just frying the onions and then added cornflower in and quickly stirring them to coat the onions instead of prepping them and it turned out amazing.
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- oil for frying
- 2-3 tsp corn flour (Mazina)
- Salt and pepper
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat.
- Toss the sliced onions in the corn flour and coat evenly.
- Add oil to the pan.
- Add onions and fry until golden.
- You can always add more corn flour if needed, just stir quickly to coat.
- Enjoy!
